Music: Sophisti-pop-icated Decade

Back in the mid-80s a new genre of music that brought together new wave, jazz, pop, and soul made some headway on the charts and I really loved it. We started calling it sophisti-pop and it was exemplified by artists like Sade, Everything But The Girl, and Swing Out Sister. Here’s some of what I loved.
